Batel has been a teacher ever since the 1940s. She had taught, in particular, the Old Testament (Tanach) lessons. Her students had always remembered her, for decades after she taught them. In particular, she taught in the famous "Gimnasya Herzliya" in Tel Aviv (the photo below -- from the Wikipedia link just given -- is how it looked ca. 1936):

After retirement, she used her teaching skills for Zionism: she had been the teacher of numerous groups of Olim (new immigrants) to Israel from the FSU in the 1990s, and taught them Hebrew before they came to Israel.
